Electronic Latches With Sophisticated Security

E-Line electronic latches help protect equipment enclosures with enhanced security and data collection features while occupying the same space as mechanical latches with conventional keys. To gain access to the enclosure, the user enters a four-digit code on the integral keypad. The built-in LED shows whether access is authorized for that code. Up to 25 code combinations can be stored to identify individuals, and a networking capability allows the logging of each opening.

The networking capability also allows access codes to be programmed and changed remotely so that authorized access can be updated quickly. In addition, a single latch or multiple latches can be unlocked remotely. This capability allows access to equipment enclosures without disclosing an access code.

The design use digital technology for locking, but the actual opening of equipment doors is accomplished by manually actuating the Swinghandle latch.

The E-line latch is powered from a 110/230 VAC input. In the event of a power failure, the latch can be operated by connecting a commercially available battery to contacts included on each latch.
