Digital Valve Modules

Digital Modules for electrohydraulic proportional valves can be configured to function in the same way as a variety of individual analog cards. Engineers can choose from five driver modules, all of which can be configured with selectable defaults or custom parameters to drive a variety of proportional valves, accept download of user-defined custom settings, enable settings to be viewed and modified through an RS232 interface, and allow settings to be copied to another module. With plug-in electrical connectors, the modules snap on standard DIN rail, eliminating the need for cardholders. The PWD00A-400 drives any of the manufacturer’s open-loop proportional valves, with ramps and setpoints as standard parameters. The PCD00A-400 drives standard open-loop throttle and pressure control valves, with ramps and setpoints as standard parameters. The PWDXXA-400 drives high-performance valves with spool feedback, while the PZD00A-400 replaces accessory cards. Lastly, the PID00A-400 processes external closed-loop control of cylinder position, pressure and velocity, and provides 䕖 mA direct servo drive. All modules are configured via a standard RS232 null-modem cable using the manufacturer’s free user-interface software, Parker ProPXD. The software provides selectable defaults and customizable parameters for specific valves. It also displays default or previously saved values and profiles, the parameters currently stored in a module and diagnostic test signals.
