Computer-aided Manufacturing Software

GibbsCAM 2005 offers engineers the ability to program computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools. This CAM software features several new functionalities, such as the ability to import alignment tools and incorporate drilling for smart depths and clearances when machining solid models. The software offers profiler support for drilling, GEN III pocketing for smart volume removal, and improvements to both the Hole Manager and Automated Feature Recognition functions. For users involved with production milling and turning, the software provides user-controlled entries and exits in contouring and pocketing, a mill tool holder library for simulation display, Mazak flash tooling support, automatic mirroring for left-hand parts, and other enhanced features. The software aids in 3D milling by providing gouge-protected surface-flow for finishing surfaces. Methods to optimize toolpath and feedrate for high-speed machining are also included. Users can run multiple GibbsCAM sessions on one PC. GibbsCAM 2005 is compatible with PC-based CAD systems, Autodesk Inventor R10, Solid Edge V16, and SolidWorks 2005.
