Composite Mounted Bearing Units

Featuring strong, lightweight thermoplastic housings, Marathon Series composite mounted bearing units are suitable for food and beverage processing applications. The units can withstand citric acids, cooking fats, and most washdown chemicals and sanitizers. USDA-approved lubricants are “sealed for life” to ensure maintenance-free operation and extend service life. The units are up to 61 percent lighter than cast iron devices due to their thermoplastic housings. These housings offer integrated performance features, including embedded steel coils for enhanced fracture strength and 300 Series stainless steel bolt hole inserts for added housing foot strength and corrosion resistance. Moreover, the housings feature polyurethane-filled housing base enabling units, which allows the housings to mount flush with surfaces. This eliminates the gaps that can often trap contaminants. The Marathon composite units feature corrosion-resistant insert bearings. These bearings are standard bearing steel insert protected with MRC’s ZmaRC corrosion-resistant coating or fully stainless steel insert designed to provide excellent corrosion resistance. The units also feature low-friction rubber seals, and are available in a wide range of sizes and housing designs for a variety of applications. Users can choose from pillow block, flange, tapped base, take-up, and hanger housing styles. Variations to these styles are optional for users with application-specific requirements.
