W. Scott Baker has been selected Whitney Tool’s first operations manager, responsible for production and facilities. This will include implementation of ISO 9001 quality systems, with which he has extensive experience at Visteon Automotive Systems. He began at Whitney Tool on June 16.

“Scott is highly qualified with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and 15 years of manufacturing experience,” says Whitney Tool General Manager Robert O’Callaghan. “In his career with Visteon he advanced steadily from production supervision and engineering positions up to product team area manager. With his experience and background, he will fit very well into our organization.”

The difference in size and “corporate culture” between Visteon and Whitney Tool is obvious. “Whitney Tool Company’s reputation speaks for itself in being an extremely successful cutting tool manufacturer,” Scott says. “Even with most sectors in today’s economy plummeting, Whitney Tool continues to perform very favorably. That speaks volumes that Whitney Tool Company is doing something right.

“Not only has Whitney Tool established itself as a successful company, but is also committed to being a positive influence within the community. Both of these led me towards accepting this position,” Scott explains.

“Even though my 15 years of manufacturing engineering and management experience has been exclusive to the automotive industry, I am excited and eagerly looking forward to working with all the team members to develop Whitney Tool into an even greater celebrated company,” he says.
