Company Awarded Two Applications On Aircraft Engine

IRVINE, CA – (Business Wire) – Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation (NYSE:ETN) has been selected by Rolls-Royce Corporation for two applications on the Trent XWB aircraft engine for the Airbus A350 program.

Eaton will design, develop and supply the main engine fuel pump and engine build up sub-systems for the next generation of Trent engines. The Trent XWB was selected to power the new Airbus A350 XWB platform. Anticipated revenue from these applications could exceed $750 million over the 40-year life of the program.

The Trent XWB jet engine will use Eaton’s advanced fuel pump and conveyance system technologies. Within this agreement, Eaton will provide support during the engine development and test phase, which is expected to be completed by 2012. Eaton will also provide production units and aftermarket support for both applications throughout the life of the Trent XWB program.

“Our recent success on the Trent XWB program is further evidence that Eaton’s technologies and sub-system capabilities within the aircraft engine component area of our business are delivering significant benefits to our customers. We are very proud to work with Rolls-Royce on this exciting and successful new program,” says Bradley J. Morton, president -- Aerospace Business.
