Compact Linear Actuators

NEMA size 17 linear actuators combine high-torque stepping motor capability with an anti-backlash feature for improved bi-directional position accuracy and a longer service life.

The anti-backlash and nut assembly, made from SAE660 bearing bronze, effectively eliminates backlash even at high speeds. Cold-rolled steel leadscrews resist warping, wear, and the additional strain caused by higher power output. A totally enclosed housing and permanently lubricated ball bearings further extend motor life. Based on 1.8-degree hybrid step motors, the units are driven by bi-polar or uni-polar stepper drives and furnished with four or six leads, respectively. Bi-polar models have peak operating torques of 58 oz-in, achieving up to 75 lbs of linear force with up to 12 in. of linear travel/sec. Uni-polar models have peak operating torques of 44 oz-in., achieving up to 52 lbs of linear force with up to 1 in. of linear travel/sec.
