Clamp Meter With Infrared Thermometer

The new series of 1000A and 800A clamp meters features a large 4,000-count LCD display with bright backlighting. A double-molded housing is ergonomically designed to give users a better grip when performing one-handed operations. Capable of measuring resistance, capacitance, frequency, and continuity, the meters offer a Fast Peak Hold that captures inrush currents and transients. The 1000A clamp features a built-in, non-contact InfraRed thermometer with laser pointer to monitor temperature and locate hot spots on motors and electrical devices. This unit also incorporates min/max, a data hold feature designed to “freeze” data in the display, and an auto ranging feature with manual range override. The 1000A meter measures ac/dc voltage and ac current, while the EX830 also measures dc current. With a 1.7-in. (43 mm) diameter jaw opening, the 1000A meter is large enough for conductors up to 750 MCM. The EX820 and the EX830 are True RMS models. The 800A meter measures ac/dc voltage and ac current, with the EX730 also measuring dc current. The 800A meter features a 1.2-in. (30 mm) diameter jaw opening for conductors up to 500 MCM, and both the EX720 and EX730 are True RMS models. All clamps feature auto power-off and include test leads, a 9 V battery, and a belt holster. True RMS meters also come with a Type K bead wire probe for temperature measurements.
