Maplesoft™, an engineering, science and mathematics software tool provider, has announced the availability of Maple 12, their newest rich calculation management, documentation and visualization tool. Some functionality includes controller design, parameter optimization, CAD parameter calculations and code generation applications.

Combining high-performance computing with an extensive range of solvers and exploratory tools, this tool can create clearer, more concise and readily shareable documents for technical communication. According to Maplesoft, the new version of software boasts of:

  • The ability to enter, edit and perform a variety of computations centered on natural math notation with the comparative ease of basic calculator software.
  • Self-documenting, context-intelligent menus that feature integrated support for a broad range of computations and access to a wide scope of plot types through interactive assistants.
  • Compelling interactive components and visualization tools, such as dynamic embedded components, a wide selection of 2-D plot types with annotation tools, and interactive 3-D plots and animations with investigative tools, for creating customizable solutions with clarity, detail and reproducibility.
  • Unmatched depth and breadth of computational ability, including expanded ordinary differential equation, partial differential equation and differential-algebraic equation solvers, the addition of wavelet transforms to the discrete transforms collection and dynamics systems analysis tools for linear time invariant systems.
  • The flexibility to connect Maple’s technical environment to other applications (like CAD packages, spreadsheets, databases and technical products, such as MATLAB®) and interact with them by translating MATLAB code into Maple commands—for instance, generating code or using the CAD Link Assistant for easy interaction with 3-D CAD designs.
