Optima Series DMC-2200 Ethernet motion controllers come with a high-speed 100Base-T option enabling them to send and receive data packets 10 times faster than the DMC-2100 models.
The device provides easy, high-speed, long-distance communications between any number of computer hardware devices on a LAN, including I/O modules, MMI interfaces, PCs, PLCs, and vision systems. Available in one- through eight-axis versions, it can control step and servo motors on any combination of axes. An internal power supply is incorporated for direct connection to 90-250 Vac, and the device accepts encoder inputs up to 12 MHz, operates stepper motors up to 3 MHz, and handles several modes of motion such as point-to-point positioning, jogging, linear/circular interpolation, electronic gearing, and ECAM. An auto-negotiate function allows communication with either 10Base-T or 100Base-T, full or half duplex devices. Other standard features include PID control with velocity and acceleration feedforward and notch filter parameters, non-volatile memory for storing multiple programs, and multi-tasking for concurrent execution of eight programs. I/O capabilities include 64 programmable digital inputs and outputs, eight uncommitted analog inputs, and high-speed position latches.
One-axis models start at $1,695 in single units and $1,045 each in quantities of 100.
